On the other hand, you don’t want to work so much that you burn out or lose sight of what’s important in your life. It can be hard to strike the right balance, but it’s important to try. Of course, achieving a work-life balance is easier said than done. But it’s not impossible. Emphasizing these work-life balance tips for you and your employees is essential to remain healthy, happy, and productive.

Working Long Hours Is Counterproductive

Working more than 40 hours per week can actually lead to decreased productivity. One study found that employees who worked longer hours had lower rates of productivity, and were more likely to make errors. The researchers suggested that this was due to fatigue, and the fact that employees who work long hours are often less able to focus. Additionally, working long hours can have a negative impact on health, leading to problems like sleep deprivation and stress. These issues can further decrease productivity and quality of work. Therefore, it’s important to strike a balance between working enough to get the job done, and not working so much that you start to see a decline in your performance.
