Blog 7: Great Results
Is Life about Great Results or Creating our Purpose of Life?
Do you know who you are? Not only who you say you are, but who you truly are. In other words, does the person on the inside match the person on the outside?
When I sold my business in 2012 I made the decision to go into Coaching, Keynote Speaking and Training, to help me find my quest, to define my purpose of life.
I realized that I have achieved a lot in my life by setting goals and taking action to make them a reality. I believe this is a vital component to creating success in life. Also, I realized though I needed greater clarity into who I am and how I define myself in two key areas: Self and the Leadership I show to my relationships.
I challenge you to ask yourself these four questions:
- How do I want to live my life everyday?
- What do I want to be remembered for?
- What do others say about who I am?
- Am I being the person I want to be?
The first thing I needed to do was refine my mission statement to reflect where I wanted my life to be today.
To me, a mission statement is the guide or the compass that keeps us on the path we want to take our life each day. I then realized I needed to create a purpose statement, that reflected my passions & values.
This declarative statement allows me to decide what is the meaning or purpose to my life.
I want to share with you today both my Mission Statement and Purpose Statement to help you start thinking about your life. Now my hope is that this inspires you to create your own statements.
My Mission Statement:
My God is the path I follow. Now my number one priority to care for and love is my family.
My integrity makes me a creative individual always looking for ways to be innovative in my life and career.
My health and fitness give me strength to prepare for the daily challenges. I will always share my talents and knowledge.”
My Purpose Statement:
The purpose of my life is to be a Servant Leader: to show appreciation and love in my relationships so that I might help others give of themselves freely, love openly and make a difference in the world.”
Go ahead take the time right now and think about the four questions I gave you above.
Why live your life without your own flight plan by having a mission and purpose statement for life!
A few years back I coined a quote I would like to share with you:
“It’s your life. Why not live the life you want to live?”
My challenge to you is:
Give of yourself freely
Make a difference in the world!
Make it a GREAT day!
