Alex BranningAlex Branning is happily married to his wife, Kathy, and they have one daughter, Ali. They are foster parents and have had five little girls in their home. They moved to Redding, CA, last summer and have loved it so far. He owns a marketing agency that serves over 300 clients.

  • Alex Branning has struggled in the past with work-life balance.
  • At one time work was number 1, 2, and 3 on his priority list.
  • Alex says there is no 50/50 work life balance it is 100/100.
    • You have to be 100% present at work and then 100% present at home.
  • Alex and his wife recently went to see the movie Goodbye Christopher Robin
    • There was a line in the movie that went: “I’m doing this for us so we can have a better life and she said no you are missing life. Life is happening now.”
    • We need to remember that people are depending on us.
  • There are two habits that have led to Alex’s success.  First is starting his day off with devotions and alone time. Second is scheduling everything out.
    • Write down what you want your ideal day to look like.
    • Write down what your actual day looks like.
    • Compare the two and work towards your ideal day.
  • Time is like gas. The more time you give yourself the more time it will take.
  • Marketing:
    • It has never been easier to target your marketing than it is today.
    • It will never be cheaper than it is today.
    • This is a really exciting time in marketing.
  • There are a few different strategies to marketing:
    • Fish hook
      • Cast into the ocean and targeting based off interests. (ex: Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
    • Fishing Net
      • Putting your information where you know your customers are. (ex GoogleAd Words)
  • Ask yourself these questions:
    • Who are your target clients following?
    • What books are they reading?
    • What groups are they a part of?
  • Using technology to benefit business:
    • Technology is just a new way of thinking.
      • Once you understand the technology, you will come up with ways to use it in your business.
  • Building a house analogy:
    • Start out with the foundation (one social media platform).
    • Start out by serving them first.
    • Then move to other social media platforms.
  • How to set your business apart:
    • It’s is all about conversation domination (the marketing conversation).
      • No matter where they are you show up.
      • The more familiar you are with them the more likely they will trust you.
      • Be present and then you can make the ask.
  • Alex’s podcast
    • He realeases it on Mondays and then releases small parts of it each day.
    • He starts with an anchor and then gives his audience little bits at a time.

    • 20% promotional
  • Paid Advertising
    • Every single business owner should:
      • Have an ad going to everyone that has visited your website to set up a free session or some type of free coupon.
      • Help them figure out how to contact you.
      • Never stop marketing.
  • SMOVE
  • Maximize the relationship:
    • Up-sell them with another product or service.
    • Have a good referral system in place.
